The Happy Nest takes a personalised approach to each home organisation project, working closely with clients to understand their unique needs and preferences. We also prioritise sustainability and eco-friendliness in our organisation solutions.
After your initial inquiry, we'll schedule a complimentary 20-minute consultation, either via phone or video chat, to delve into your project, address any challenges, exchange ideas, and more. If you decide to move forward, we'll then set up an organising session in the diary. Upon agreement and to secure the agreed date, a 50% deposit will be required. Please note that additional charges for travel expenses and parking fees may apply.
We'll initially discuss the areas you wish to tackle and your desired outcome. Upon arrival, we'll assess the task's scope and approach it by sorting items into keep, discard, recycle, and reuse categories. We'll also evaluate available storage options. I aim to minimize buying recommendations, and you're under no obligation to purchase anything suggested.
Please refrain from tidying up before our consultation. It's crucial for me to see the spaces in their current condition to understand your needs and challenges better. Completing tasks like laundry beforehand is advised, especially if we're focusing on clothing, to ensure nothing is overlooked. Additionally, please set aside any delicate or private items you’d prefer not to handle in front of me. If certain areas of your home are off-limits, please inform me beforehand.
Upon my arrival, I'm happy for you to offer a tour of your home if you'd like, or I can simply focus on the areas you wish to address. A tour provides me with a comprehensive view of your home, aiding in determining how best to assist you. It's important to note that I approach each situation without judgment; my primary goal is to help you get organised and achieve your objectives. Rest assured, I've encountered various situations before, and my focus remains on providing support and guidance tailored to your needs.
I'll bring black bin liners and various storage containers/organisers to showcase helpful options. Additionally, my trusty labelling machine will be on hand. If you have specific preferences for spare containers/files, it can be useful, but it's best to wait until I've assessed the situation before making any purchases. I am committed to reusing and recycling whenever possible and like to keep purchases of storage solutions to a minimum.
Initially, your presence is essential. However, once we have established the goals and I have a better understanding of what is important to you, I am very happy to work more independently. It's crucial that your belongings are valued, and any suggested improvements are tailored to your needs. I won't discard any item without your consent.
I'm more than happy to work with you while there are young children around, but it's best to inform me in advance. We may need to adjust our session expectations accordingly.
Please don't feel embarrassed. My aim is to assist you in moving forward positively. Complete confidentiality is assured, and I'm here to help without judgment or comment on your current situation.
I am based in Cambridge and am willing to travel up to 30 minutes at no extra cost. Any additional travel time will be discussed and agreed upon with the client beforehand. Petrol costs will be charged at 45p per mile.
While I'm not a cleaning service, we'll ensure surfaces and containers are wiped down and dusted as we work. Having your vacuum cleaner handy is often beneficial during the process.
I can dispose of items within reason. I encourage donating as much as possible to reach a charity or second home. I have contacts in Cambridge with the Women’s Refuge and Baby Bank. I'm also happy to offer advice on disposing of items not suitable for removal by me.
